Fenn Mountain Elk

Fenn Mountain Elk
For most of the trip, these elk were the only company I had. I came upon them during my descent of the mountain. They were taking a nap and after watching them until I was bored had to let the know I was around before I came down. Generally elk are hyper cautious and skittish, but I guess they were not used to seeing people in such places. The one on the right seemed the leader and she kept turning her butt to me and taking massive pisses in my direction. Not sure what she was trying to tell me. Finally they trotted off through the brush below and I never saw them again. August 2008
