I find it great that you posted this report, listing all the successes on the pakistani peaks and also mentioning those who tragically lost their lives during attempts on these peaks. A very valuable contribution!!

for the info. I knew a couple of the successful climbers of Nanga Parbat this year and had wished I was there. It was sad what happened.

Many thanks for your visit and vote. Yes the year 2009 proved to be a lucky year for climbing on Nanga Parbat. Although just 03 expeditions were launched on Nanga Parbat luckily all of these returned successful by putting 22 out of 41 climbers on top of Nanga Parbat including 04 Pakistani climbers. But once again it lived upto its nick name “The Killer Mountain” by claiming the lives of 02 climbers. One of them being Mr. Wolfgang Koelblinger from Austria and the other Ms Go Mi Sun from South Korea, incidentally both of them died while descending from the summit after successfully summitting the Peak.

One suggestion though: could you attach as "related object" to this article your previous articles from 2006, 2007 and 2008? I would be easier for the reader to check also the previous yearly reports.

Thanks for your visit,This year a five members team led by Bruce Normand tried to summit Gasherbrum IV but they didnt reach to summit because of bad weather.

Thanks for your sharing your kind comments. Yes,the year 2009 has been a very bleak season for Mountaineering in Pakistan. The security state of the country has adversely affected the inflow of Tourists in Pakistan during 2009.Now the situation is going better I hope 2010 will be better for tourism in Pakistan
