I did Finger Rock in '98. The crux of the climb for us was the shin-daggers we encountered. Be sure you climb Baboquivari before you leave town, if you haven't.
Yeah, I agree. THe approach was the crux, really. I did the SE on Babo back in 96 or thereabouts... almost time for a repeat, I figure. Great climb, isn't it?
Hey Carolyn, thanks! Truth is that while my climbing skills seem to still be strong, I'm apparently getting dumber as I get older. I didn't bring enough water and I didn't even have libations at the car for when I got down. Perhaps that one bad incident (bringing a 12-pack up Agassiz Peak at night in January) scarred me for life. Cheers!
