Stories of old

Remember that spot well from 2004 ascent :)

You must have spent some truly enjoyable time in Tatras recently Jacku!

Re: Stories of old

I did have a blast although I only spent 29hrs there. (And the journey there and back home took me about 19hrs:)) Nice to see you were able to make it to Sarek too! BTW Did you do this variant along this funny ledge?

Re: Stories of old

Yes, I did.

Straight from Hincove lakes, not via 'Droga po Glazach' on which one loses almost whole altitude gained while climbing up 'Chlopek' pass from North and I'd even say most of popularity and fame of that route has its roots in ...former border restrictions :)

p.s.
First exploration of Sarek accomplished indeed. Untouched far northern mountain heaven. I'll be back soon for more...

Pozdrowienia,

Tomek

Re: Stories of old

I didn't - with my poor back and medium-sized backpack I opted for the ridge scramble, which I found very enjoyable. As for 'Droga po głazach', well, it still seems popular with Polish scramblers as your chances of having an uninvited dispute with a Slovak ranger or guide are much smaller, not to mention the fact it's an intrinsic part of a loop hike from Morskie Oko.

Wishing you many great trips to the Arctic,

Jacek
