First pitch of the south-west route on the Dent du Geant

Photograph taken in July 2009 one day after storm. Snow patches can be seen on the rock. The top climber is at the belay spot of the first pitch. The "normal" route continues on an ascending traverse to the left of the man with the belay. Fixed ropes can be seen below the lower climber. A more difficult direct route without fixed ropes (Geant Branche) continues to the right above the man with the belay.
