First Sight of Holy Cross on North Ridge Route

First Sight of Holy Cross on North Ridge Route
This is the first real view of Mt of the Holy Cross via the North Ridge Route. This is just before descending down to East Cross Creek (you pay for this with a nearly 1,000 foot climb on the way back out). After crossing the creek, you gain the North Ridge for an easy Class II push to the summit.

Mt of the Holy Cross is definitely one of the more classic summits in Colorado. It makes for a long, but rewarding day.

classic view. Gerry should have used this picture for the cover of his 14ers guidebook.
Nice capture!

Thanks for the generous words. I'm sure Gerry doesn't have any shortage of great pics to choose from for his cover.
