La GRANDE FRANA dell'ALLUVIONE nell'Ottobre del 2000.
Nell'Anno 2000 dal giovedì 13 al lunedì 16 Ottobre, causa la grande alluvione che colpì l'intera Valle d'Aosta, si verificò un'enorme frana che, partendo da una grande faglia a forma di buca da lettere, alla base occidentale della parete nelle vicinanze dello zoccolo, larga anche 4 metri e lunga oltre 250 (nel Luglio del 1966 fu constatato dalla cordata I. A. Garzotto-D. F. Cardellina-W. Ferronato, che dapprima aveva cercato di salire lungo il settore destro della parete, rinunciandovi poi causa la precarietà della roccia, la presenza di tale crepaccio terroso allora largo dai 20 ai 30 cm. e lungo meno di una ventina di metri); la stessa scese nel letto dell'antico canale per oltre 750 metri con una doppia rasoiata tale da devastarlo completamente, allargandolo di almeno dieci volte ed approfondendolo di quasi altrettanto. La stessa, raggiunto il letto del Torrente Comboé dentro il Vallone del Dard, ne sconvolse il corso ed (formata una sacca d'acqua con materiali varii presso il Ponte di Rongachet 1100 m circa) esplodendo nella mattinata della Domenica del 15 Ottobre 2000, si abbatté sulle Frazioni di Saint Bénin, Chenaux e Chèniere, soprastanti il Comune di Pollein, causandone la rovina e la morte di sette persone, tra le quali un bambino; allargandosi a ventaglio colpì anche la Frazione di Pian Felina per poi scaricarsi nel Fiume Dora Baltea.

AVALANCHE from East Face Testa Nera's (2820 m), 20 metres in SE below of the Chamolés Pass (2641 m). Sweepping away along 200 metres of Camillo Roberto Ferronato & Osvaldo Cardellina to Arbolle's Tableland ad Torrent (2496 m c.).

CONCLUSION: Camill with head snowout; Oswald ("more lucky !) with head and foots behind the cars (body in arch "dietrofront" 360° and one broken finger by ice-axe). Never to complain !!!

Come nel Klondike con i suoi celeberrimi Cercatori d'ORO, la VOCE si era diffusa ed i VENTI impetuosi dell’EMILIUS l’avevano sparsa per i quattro Cantoni ed in direzione di tutti i Punti Cardinali: alle falde della Grande Roèse o addirittura nel Lago Lungo delle Laures c’è ... esiste ... si trova l’ORO! Così una lunga colonna di Minatori, si proprio quelli con la barba incolta su di una faccia squadrata e come tagliata con la scure, uomini di un’altra Epopea, saliva l’omonimo vallone partendo dal fondovalle e transitando per l'abitato del Gran Brissogne, nonché i progressivi Alpeggi de l’Arp, la Vieille e le Tramouail, ma non più per condurre le vacche al pascolo nel paradisiaco Vallone delle Laures con i suoi splendidi tre laghi verdi meraldo ed azzurrissimi, bensì per cercar la soluzione di tutti i problemi della Vita, trovando il prezioso metallo. E ciò dal Medio Evo in avanti e fino a mezzo del XX° Secolo.

Talmente convinti ed ostinati nelle loro idee, come tutti i Veri Mmmmmontanari, che ancor oggi li trovereste sempre assolutamente nelle loro posizioni assunte non spostandosi di un sol passo in Secula Seculorum.
Ma la Grande Roise si era stancata. Sia dei Bracconieri che, a forza di furtive fucilate in mezzo alle sue pareti contro gli Stambecchi ed i Camosci, turbavano i suoi Eterni Silenzi e Riposi, rotti soltanto dal fruscio dello scorrere dei suoi torrentelli che, dall’Antico Ghiacciaio delle Ruèzes, discendevano tranquillamente dentro il Lago Lungo e quello Dessous od Inferiore. Sia di questi inaspettati nuovi intrusi che Le frugavano tra le Vesti. Dapprima ritirò il suo Ghiacciaio Occidentale, lasciando scoperta un’infinità di pertugi ed anfratti tra i grandi "Clapeys" (= grandi blocchi squadrati e sparsi sopra la morena); così li avrebbe fatti impazzire obbligandoli a sondare migliaia e migliaia di buchi e fori. Ma costoro, a conferma che l'Avidità nonché la Cupidigia-Ingordigia Umana non possiede confini, continuavano imperterriti ed indefessi, senza denotare segni di stanchezza e tantomeno di resa. La Grande Roise cercò allora un’altra strategia e fece diffondere ovunque la notizia che l'ORO era nascosto ed occultato in fondal Lago. Ma forse tutto ciò corrispondeval vero e la montagna di notte e di nascosto lo aveva fatto scivolare dentro, eludendo così ogni minima possibilità di ritrovarlo. Ma quelli scavavano sempre ed ancora, ancora e sempre. Allora la Grande si stizzì alquanto e, perdendo la completamente testa, inviò loro dall'alto della sua Cima una grande scarica di pietre, tale che li fece fuggir per sempre. Ecco perché la sua Vetta non è aguzza ed appuntita, bensì larga, piatta e tagliata, tanto che gli abitanti del luogo la chiamano Tita Plana, che significa Testa Piana od anche Piatta e pure Tagliata. Da allora la Grande Roise ha perso per sempre la sua testa, i minatori ed i cercatori d’oro se ne son per sempre andati ed il metallo prezioso giace nel fondo scuro del lago ed anche la LEGGENDA andò perduta, nello scorrere inesorabile del Tempo. Perché anch'io non so più in quale libro io l'abbia letta, acché pure io sto perdendo la Memoria. Una strategia magica del monte che sa di potere cancellare gli Uomini nel Tempo. Ma esiste …ma esiste … ESISTE, sia il Libro e fors'anche

Definire il Monte Emilius una montagna clericale é cosa buona e giusta poiché, prescindendo dalla prima (?) Ascensione Assoluta avvenuta nel 1823, su ognuna delle quattro creste esistenti i Parroci od Abati che si voglia dire hanno lasciato per l’Eternità il loro marchio e sigillo. Da quella dei Tre Cappuccini dove con l’ascensione nel 1839 della giovane ragazza Emilia Argentier il nome della montagna diventò da Picco delle 11 Ore al nominativo oggi in auge; un’ascensione ideata con relativa e susseguente dedica dal Canonico Naturalista Georges Carrel. Poi nel 1902 fu la volta della Cresta Ovest-nordovest partendo dal colle (in seguito Colle Carrel) tra la Becca di Nona e il Mont Ross de Comboé, grande Spalla Occidentale dell’Emilius; sempre in quella stagione esplorativa dell’Abbbé Joseph Maria Henry, accompagnato dalla "Guida a mulo" di Charvensod Grégoire Comé, dopo la salita del Contrafforte Occidentale, avviene la discesa e risalita, per la prima volta, della Cresta Est o di Brissogne, che scende verso il Lago Lungo delle Laures. Ma nel 1906 i tre Curati Bonin, Bovet ed Henry superano loro stessi e, insieme all’Ingegnere di Saint Marcel Nino Tofani, vincono lo splendido Spigolo Nord-nordest, posto a cavallo tra la Parete Est ed il Triangolo Nero-Parete Nord dell’Emilius. Un grande exploit che farà si che questa ripida cresta, sospesa tra ripide pareti a precipizio, porti per sempre il loro nome, essendo ormai definitivamente consacrata come

Nell'Anno 2000 dal giovedì 13 al lunedì 16 Ottobre, causa la grande alluvione che colpì l'intera Valle d'Aosta, si verificò un'enorme frana che, partendo da una grande faglia a forma di buca da lettere, alla base occidentale della parete nelle vicinanze dello zoccolo, larga anche 4 metri e lunga oltre 250 (nel Luglio del 1966 fu constatato dalla cordata I. A. Garzotto-D. F. Cardellina-W. Ferronato, che dapprima aveva cercato di salire lungo il settore destro della parete, rinunciandovi poi causa la precarietà della roccia, la presenza di tale crepaccio terroso allora largo dai 20 ai 30 cm. e lungo meno di una ventina di metri); la stessa scese nel letto dell'antico canale per oltre 750 metri con una doppia rasoiata tale da devastarlo completamente, allargandolo di almeno dieci volte ed approfondendolo di quasi altrettanto. La stessa, raggiunto il letto del Torrente Comboé dentro il Vallone del Dard, ne sconvolse il corso ed (formata una sacca d'acqua con materiali varii presso il Ponte di Rongachet 1100 m circa) esplodendo nella mattinata della Domenica del 15 Ottobre 2000, si abbatté sulle Frazioni di Saint Bénin, Chenaux e Chèniere, soprastanti il Comune di Pollein, causandone la rovina e la morte di sette persone, tra le quali un bambino; allargandosi a ventaglio colpì anche la Frazione di Pian Felina per poi scaricarsi nel Fiume Dora Baltea.

E scavavan, picconavan e scavavan; con gli enormi Picconi ... SCAVAVANO SEMPRE. Dall'Alba al Tramonto. Di Giorno e di Notte. Le sponde del LAGO LUNGO eran diventate come il formaggio Gruviera o, meglio, l’Emmenthal delle Alpi. Tutto buchi. Muniti di grandi picconi e ferri d'ogni genere, foravano i fianchi della montagna. Dappertutto. Come nel Klondike con i suoi celeberrimi Cercatori d'ORO, la VOCE si era diffusa ed i VENTI impetuosi dell’EMILIUS l’avevano sparsa per i quattro Cantoni ed in direzione di tutti i Punti Cardinali: alle falde della Grande Roèse o addirittura nel Lago Lungo delle Laures c’è ... esiste ... si trova l’ORO! Così una lunga colonna di Minatori, si proprio quelli con la barba incolta su di una faccia squadrata e come tagliata con la scure, uomini di un’altra Epopea, saliva l’omonimo vallone partendo dal fondovalle e transitando per l'abitato del Gran Brissogne, nonché i progressivi Alpeggi de l’Arp, la Vieille e le Tramouail, ma non più per condurre le vacche al pascolo nel paradisiaco Vallone delle Laures con i suoi splendidi tre laghi verdi meraldo ed azzurrissimi, bensì per cercar la soluzione di tutti i problemi della Vita, trovando il prezioso metallo. E ciò dal Medio Evo in avanti e fino a mezzo del XX° Secolo.
Nel frattempo, visto un si grande ed ostinato Bordello, il Lac Dessous o Superiore si ritirò più in alto sprezzante altolocante nella sua nobil livrea Verde Smeraldo ed andando a riferire subito tutto ciò che stava accadendo alla Congrega dei Tre Cappuccini; il piccino, timido e fragile Lago Ghiacciato, invece tutto impaurito, si rifugiò sotto le pendici Sudorientali dell'Emilius, sperando di non essere mai visto o raggiunto da questa enorme Schiera di Barbaracci Invasori. aL contrario Non fece mossa il Lac Dessous o di Sotto all'ingresso delle Laureseseses, perché avvezzo a tenere le Pubbliche Relazioni dell’intera Valle delle Laures ed a dare il benvenuto agli Ospiti. Talmente convinti ed ostinati nelle loro idee, come tutti i Veri Mmmmmontanari, che ancor oggi li trovereste sempre assolutamente nelle loro posizioni assunte non spostandosi di un sol passo in Secula Seculorum.
Ma la Grande Roise si era stancata. Sia dei Bracconieri che, a forza di furtive fucilate in mezzo alle sue pareti contro gli Stambecchi ed i Camosci, turbavano i suoi Eterni Silenzi e Riposi, rotti soltanto dal fruscio dello scorrere dei suoi torrentelli che, dall’Antico Ghiacciaio delle Ruèzes, discendevano tranquillamente dentro il Lago Lungo e quello Dessous od Inferiore. Sia di questi inaspettati nuovi intrusi che Le frugavano tra le Vesti. Dapprima ritirò il suo Ghiacciaio Occidentale, lasciando scoperta un’infinità di pertugi ed anfratti tra i grandi "Clapeys" (= grandi blocchi squadrati e sparsi sopra la morena); così li avrebbe fatti impazzire obbligandoli a sondare migliaia e migliaia di buchi e fori. Ma costoro, a conferma che l'Avidità nonché la Cupidigia-Ingordigia Umana non possiede confini, continuavano imperterriti ed indefessi, senza denotare segni di stanchezza e tantomeno di resa. La Grande Roise cercò allora un’altra strategia e fece diffondere ovunque la notizia che l'ORO era nascosto ed occultato in fondal Lago. Ma forse tutto ciò corrispondeval vero e la montagna di notte e di nascosto lo aveva fatto scivolare dentro, eludendo così ogni minima possibilità di ritrovarlo. Ma quelli scavavano sempre ed ancora, ancora e sempre. Allora la Grande si stizzì alquanto e, perdendo la completamente testa, inviò loro dall'alto della sua Cima una grande scarica di pietre, tale che li fece fuggir per sempre. Ecco perché la sua Vetta non è aguzza ed appuntita, bensì larga, piatta e tagliata, tanto che gli abitanti del luogo la chiamano Tita Plana, che significa Testa Piana od anche Piatta e pure Tagliata. Da allora la Grande Roise ha perso per sempre la sua testa, i minatori ed i cercatori d’oro se ne son per sempre andati ed il metallo prezioso giace nel fondo scuro del lago ed anche la LEGGENDA andò perduta, nello scorrere inesorabile del Tempo. Perché anch'io non so più in quale libro io l'abbia letta, acché pure io sto perdendo la Memoria. Una strategia magica del monte che sa di potere cancellare gli Uomini nel Tempo. Ma esiste …ma esiste … ESISTE, sia il Libro e fors'anche

Definire il Monte Emilius una montagna clericale é cosa buona e giusta poiché, prescindendo dalla prima (?) Ascensione Assoluta avvenuta nel 1823, su ognuna delle quattro creste esistenti i Parroci od Abati che si voglia dire hanno lasciato per l’Eternità il loro marchio e sigillo. Da quella dei Tre Cappuccini dove con l’ascensione nel 1839 della giovane ragazza Emilia Argentier il nome della montagna diventò da Picco delle 11 Ore al nominativo oggi in auge; un’ascensione ideata con relativa e susseguente dedica dal Canonico Naturalista Georges Carrel. Poi nel 1902 fu la volta della Cresta Ovest-nordovest partendo dal colle (in seguito Colle Carrel) tra la Becca di Nona e il Mont Ross de Comboé, grande Spalla Occidentale dell’Emilius; sempre in quella stagione esplorativa dell’Abbbé Joseph Maria Henry, accompagnato dalla "Guida a mulo" di Charvensod Grégoire Comé, dopo la salita del Contrafforte Occidentale, avviene la discesa e risalita, per la prima volta, della Cresta Est o di Brissogne, che scende verso il Lago Lungo delle Laures. Ma nel 1906 i tre Curati Bonin, Bovet ed Henry superano loro stessi e, insieme all’Ingegnere di Saint Marcel Nino Tofani, vincono lo splendido Spigolo Nord-nordest, posto a cavallo tra la Parete Est ed il Triangolo Nero-Parete Nord dell’Emilius. Un grande exploit che farà si che questa ripida cresta, sospesa tra ripide pareti a precipizio, porti per sempre il loro nome, essendo ormai definitivamente consacrata come

Tutte e quattro le creste dell'Emilius hanno qualcosa di regale e magico, compreso il lungo Contrafforte Sudovest che, traendo origine appena sopra il Rifugio del Lago di Arbolle, attraversa da Meridione a Settentrione separando i Valloni di Comboè con quello di Arbolle/Lago Gelato per innestarsi al Mont Ròss de Comboé con la Cresta Ovest, proveniente dal Colle Carrel e diretta alla Vetta massima. Di linee perfette coronano ed incorniciano le quattro omologhe pareti, tra le quali la Est sopra Les Laures e la Nord sull'Arpisson posseggono un aspetto severo e selvaggio. Su tutte le creste si respira un'aria clericale, che rimanda ad antiche escursioni e scalate e nessuna può essere considerata banale (* negli ultimi dieci anni sono avvenute tre disgrazie e tutte in discesa dal monte: due sulla Cresta dei Tre Cappuccini o Via Normale ed una sulla Cresta Ovest o, attualmente, Via Ferrata; da aggiungersi alla disgrazia sulla Parete Est del '29 per un totale di sei caduti, che fà comprendere che si tratta di una montagna da non sottovalutare); l'esplorazione dell'Emilius rimanda a questi Preti ed Abati Alpinisti ed Arrampicatori, coraggiosi e determinati a conoscere ed a fare conoscere, anche con articoli e pubblicazioni esaurienti e molto attraenti, questa splendida montagna, che dall'alto di 3000 metri troneggia sull'antico Borgo di Aosta. Dalla sua Vetta si domina tutta la Valle Centrale del Fiume Dora Baltea, che da qui si srotola siccome nastro agentato e lucente, sull'asse Occidente-Oriente, mentre a Settentrione la vista spazia verso la Terra di Svizzera in un arco che va dalla decrescente Catena del Monte Bianco ai possenti Combins ed all'esteso Monte Rosa con i suoi grandi ghiacciai. Dappertutto occhieggiano Campanili di Chiese, Santuari e Cappelle Votive, a testimonianza della Grande Fede Cristiana degli Antichi Abitanti della Valle d'Aosta espansa dopo l'Era dei Salassi e dopo l'Epopea dei Romani (** l'antico nome della Città di Aosta infatti era "Augusta Praetoria Salassorum"); sulla Cima, nel 1959, gli Scouts posero una Croce in ferro ed una Madonnina in legno, ora sostituita, dall'Agosto del 1995, con una in metallo con design moderno.

Ovunque, salendo alla Vetta, si respira quell'aria clericale e sobria che rende Sacro questo Monte, mentre lo Spirito dei nostri Abati aleggia nel contrasto tra la rossiccia roccia di creste e pareti ed l'azzurrissimo Cielo. Anzi, se sapeste "vedere più in là", vi appariranno gli Abati sul loro Spigolo,

Ovunque, salendo alla Vetta, si respira quell'aria clericale e sobria che rende Sacro questo Monte, mentre lo Spirito dei nostri Abati aleggia nel contrasto tra la rossiccia roccia di creste e pareti ed l'azzurrissimo Cielo. Anzi, se sapeste "vedere più in là", vi appariranno gli Abati sul loro Spigolo,

l'Abbé Henry e Grégoire su e giù per le Creste Est ed Ovest e, più lontani nel Tempo e nello Spazio, i primi salitori su per i Cappuccini o Cresta Sud-sudest attualmente e da sempre Via Normale per il monte, almeno per coloro che provengono da Aosta, via Pila, o da Cogne-Gimillan tramite i Colli di Laures o Garin, mentre gli abitanti del Grand Brissogne prediligono la loro via autonoma transitando dal Vallone delle Laures e per mezzo della Cresta Est, se non tramite lo Spigolo N-NE “dei Tre Curati”.
