
| I got to somewhere between 3400 and 3500 meters up the normal route up the Punta Rossa della Grivola, having started at the Vittorio Sella hut. As I didn't have the equipment that would have been necessary to go on until the top, I stopped at the point mentioned. Already from that spot on nearly 3500 meters, the view was breathtaking, though, as it was fabulous weather - the entire range of the Pennine Alps and the Mont Blanc, the two being clearly separated by the Col du Grand Saint-Bernard, could be seen as a gigantic backdrop to the north and northeast, and right behind the summit of Gran Paradiso one could even see the Alpe marittime, the weather was so clear! |
