Found near the old lookout

This was a bit of a mystery to us as we noticed these four crosses near the old lookout foundation on the east side of the summit area. Anyone know the story behind these? 8-19-10

Illinois peak crosses picture

FYI... The history behind the crosses on Illinois peak...They belong to Susan (Glidersleeve) McLees. They are the ashes of her husband and son - - Mat Baker and G. Mike Baker. Placed: Mike (1985) and Mat (1989). They both wanted their ashes placed there because it was their favorite place to visit while hiking.
