Fremont's Phacelia blooming in Pinto Valley

Phacelia fremontii photographed in Pinto Valley in February 2008. Lake Mead Area, Nevada. In wetter years these flowers can create much larger displays, but they always tend to grow under or around the bushes like this group in the photo.

Thanks Dow. It's often hard to get any good background with these flowers. They are so tiny.
During the last few days more and more other types of flowers started popping up in Lake Mead area.

Our Snow Canyon turtles will be quite happy when they wake up...tons of grass here compared to a normal year...have a large cat hunting Snow Canyon for the first time in 3 years....cheers
