Re: Nice.Just got back from the Matukituki (also visited the Wilkin Valley & Mt Brewster) - didn't go high this time due to weather, but Aspiring looks fantastic: lots of snow & the ramp in good condition. Enjoy if you're there!!

Re: Nice.Ahhh, "just back from the Matukituki"! How far up the valley did you go? By chance are you familiar with the falcon that hung out in a slide in the upper valley. It was diving on people last year including us.

Re: FalconWe camped at Shovel flat & walked up to the head of the valley, had lunch just above Scott's Bivy. The previous night an avalanche from the Breakaways had almost reached the track. Coincidentally we did see a falcon...
