From 1969

From 1969
Glacier practice where we had to go down into the crevasses of the Cowlitz glacier and prussik our way out. I couldn't see the bottom on this crevasse and I'm standing on a snowbridge (yes, I'm roped up) I've put together an album called "Blast from the past" and included pics that for the most part
are from the 70's & 80's with a few from 1969 and a bit later. Almost all the pics had to scanned from slides to digital and in the process, some loss of color and clarity has also been lost. This picture is no exception. The climber in this shot is Adi Weisensteiner, a member of the RMI guide service who worked with my group during our time on the mountain. For more, see my Trip Report called "5 Days on the mountain".

Thanks Dow. What is amazing is to look back on the gear we used in those years. No helmets, diaper slings for harnesses. The good ole days.
