not a lot of snow down there at this time is there?

I think I took this shot in May of 2004. I would suspect there is quite a bit more snow in the Tarryalls this year. McCurdy's summit plateau sees a lot of sun exposure, thus it tends to melt out pretty fast. However the standard route runs through McCurdy Park which is where all the now is. The upper reaches of the Twin Eagles Trail is tree laden and doesn't get any sun. So, like a lot of mountains, once you get up on the plateau, things are great! But getting there with a 6.5 mile hike can be a different story.
