I was climbing Windom with the guy who took this photo. We didn't know the climber, we just happened to see him. But we met his wife coming down off the summit of Windom on our way up, and got to meet him down at the Twin Lakes on our way down. He was a cool guy, and in really good shape! When he got to the top of the spire, he let out a big yell that could be heard all over the basin, and you could hear hikers all around yelling and clapping for him. It was really cool.
"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."
