Jumping spider (phidippus mystaceus). This spider kept running toward my lens, perhaps seeing a reflection. I was the one jumping! Olympus E-30 and Sigma 105mm macro lens. Nov. 5, 2011 Comments[ Post a Comment ] | rdmc | Eeeek! | |

Hasn't voted | These spiders are often found around outside door frames of a house and around the guttering. I have read of people who actually keep them around the house as pets. I haven't got that deep as yet, but they are very photogenic! Thank you for your vote and comments. | | Posted Nov 20, 2011 5:06 pm |

Voted 10/10 | 2 big and 2 wide smaller ones? How big is the dude? Is that it's big mouth below the eyes, lol?
I don't know squat about spiders. | | Posted Nov 20, 2011 10:45 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for your vote and comment. There is actually one more medium size, and I think one, very small eye on the side and rear quarter of the sides of the head. The mouth is below the green structures you can see when you enlarge image. The fangs (yikes!) attach to those green structures. Spider was about five-eights inch, rather small, but looks big with the up-close lens. slowbutsteady | | Posted Nov 21, 2011 9:46 am |
