Congrats, it is interesting how energy management becomes so vital as we age huh? Not to be snippy, but 55 lb packs went out in the seventies dudes, give yourselves a break and lighten up. Keep going strong. -an aspiring geezer.
We summited the day prior to your summit. I believe we passed your tent at the top of Titcomb. We were descending from Boney after having summited that morning. Did you happen to talk to the Israeli team that summited the before. We hauled our packs up the pass and stayed the night. Much harder than the actual accent in my view. Thanks for the awesome report!
Yes, that was undoubtedly our tent you saw. We didn't talk to anyone fitting your description, however. When we saw several tents up at Bonney Pass, we were surprised that so many had taken all of that heavy gear up that far.
As one geezer to another, many thanks for a useful, nicely detailed report. I appreciate the blend of personal comment with relevant specifics. Gives me a good sense of what's involved without exaggeration, without excess heroics.
Definitely not geezers you guys! And motivation for someone who also has plenty of aches and pains! Seeing your stove against the rocks as you prepared dinner brought back many memories. Keep the stories coming!

GOOD workWow!!! It is amazing what we will do to hike isn't it? Geezer? I don't think so
I had similar (but much shorter) experience summiting Mt. Adams (white mountains) in August...but, can't want to hike again.

What geezer can afford heroics, anyway?
But do tell, what's a younger geezer then?
