I hiked half-way up this one last August while on a cruise to Alaska. Had to bail on it because I would have been late for our "Taku River Lodge float plane excursion." I was bummed because the weather was great; however, the excursion was good too. Sometimes you have to make a choice and I chose the one that included time with my wife - it was a good choice!
You made the right choice. Fortunately, my wife joined her family on a trip to Mendenhall glacier where they were entertained by a young black bear doing gymnastics in some small trees. Hope I get blue skies next time.
