By the way, I like the vertical of the tree better.

Re: Another great one
Me too. I put that on the page expecting to receive some "bad" feedback from some SPers. But I did it because I'm trying to discover (if I can) just what it is about a photo that makes an SPer like it, or not.
Thanks for your votes, by the way.

Nope...
...I like the horizontal shot better because it's about more than just the tree. But most importantly, this is, technically and layout-wise, a REALLY nice-looking page. Good job, Mike! (And you're right about the "standard" Trapper Pk. route being just a bit boring....)
Please take out your comment about camping at Gem Lake. I have been hiking up to this area for almost 20 years and there is now a large campfire ring at this beautiful alpine lake with virtually no dead wood available for a fire. People have started cutting young alpine larch. At least two campsites have trampled fragile alpine plants. It was not like this 15 years ago when I decided NOT to camp up there in order to preserve the alpine vegetation. I have climbed Trapper from all three routes and North Trapper via Gem Lake. Great place! Let's keep it that way.
