5th named peak of the day following Sheridan, Peerless, Horseshoe, and Sherman. Took the ridge to Dyer, but didn't summit. Excellent route.

Tagged top after summiting Sherman with Alan Arnette. It was great climbing back over the north slope of Sherman and through the first snow of the year. Experienced some incredibly strong October winds on the saddles with relatively calm summits.

Quick walk over to Gemini - that wind shelter up there was quite appreciated though on this breezy day.

Climbed at night under clear skies. I thought this would be the most asthetic way to climb this peak. Although I couldn't see the power lines, I could surely hear them. Also climbed Dyer as well.

Not too much to say about this little rock pile, but kind of a fun scramble to the top! Worth tagging if you are doing Sherman as well :)

After starting in Iowa Gulch, my dog Logan and I first climbed Dyer. We then proceeded to the east toward Gemini. This ridge narrows quite nicely near the saddle and beyond, especially for mountains in this area of CO. After summitting Gemini, we continued south to Sherman, then to the Sherman/Sheridan saddle, and returned to the west down a sketchy trail to the car in Iowa Gulch.

Trekked over both summits of Gemini from Mount Sherman. It was an exceedingly windy and cold day. The clear skies made up for the wind in spades, however. Not much snow on Sherman or Gemini yet. Sherman's ridge was a little icy in spots, but nothing crazy.

Slogged through the snow over to the peaks. Didn't see them until I was right underneath. Climbed to both of the summits before heading back to Sherman in the clouds.

I climbed both peaks. There are some nice wildflowers on the Sherman-Gemini saddle. The clouds had largely broken up by this time, and there were great views all around. From here, I went back over Sherman and then on to Sheridan.

I wasn't particularly interested in coming over here from Sherman. I was kind of tired and knew it didn't really "count" as things go. But Bryan dragged me up here anyhow =) We only went up one of the twin summits...does that make us cheaters? Dunno, I'll have to ponder that one a while...

Hit Gemini after topping out on Sherman. A nice easy hike over to Gemini. Followed the trail up the southwest side and then traversed over to the northeast side to gain the summit. Seems the rock is a little better on the NE side.

Summited late May. On snowshoes about 1/2 of the way. Geat day. Didn't see another person all day, except Jennifer who was with me.

This was kind of a neat peak but I just didn't spend much time on it because the summit was so windy. Dyer is a much better peak however.

Easy TH access and a recommended hike, make Gemini worth a visit. If your looking for a nice hike up a wide open grassy slope, try the East Ridge Route from Roach's 13er book, pg 88. There is no trail for this route, but route finding is obvious. You also can expect total solitude on this route. I thought the approach was very enjoyable, although the summit was as generic as they come. But I like mountains with nice approach's. I also enjoyed this mountain as much or more than some of the front Range 14er i had visited. Combine Gemini with Dyer Mountain and you can easily bust out two of Colorado's highest 100 with minimal effort.

Easy walk and only a few T-storms around to make things interesting.
