Jebel Khazali is similar to the Jebel Um Ishrin massif in that the white Rum sandstone forms only a small section of the summit plateau. However Khazali does not have any granite or basalt visible along the western base, therefore Khazali is more like the peaks of the Jebel Barrah massif.
