Members of the Glacier Mountaineering Soiciety (GMS) embark from the saddle on a climb of Going to the Sun (GTTS) Mountain after a number of the party climbed Matahpi Peak. The route follows a supposed goat trail across a great slope of loose talus and scree to the base of some cliffs (the standard diagonal route was filled with ice and snow). The cliffs are climbed (great fun), to another huge stretch of talus and scree. This mountain is gorgeous but it's a mess to climb, especially with a large group. If you climb this one, keep your group small. Glacier National Park, Summer, 2006.
