I am told by the workers of the Carson Natl. Forest, that Gold Hill is an excellent place to spot bighorn sheep.

Beware of the latter portion of the trail to Gold Hill, which is very steep, and also very deceptive. At least twice you will be utterly convinced that you have arrived at the summit, only to find that you have a significant distance remaining to go. Be careful, don't overexert too early. You will know when you are finally there.

Red Tape section

Red Tape states Gold Hill is in the Wheeler Peak Wilderness, it is not, it lies in the Colombine-Hondo Wilderness
