| I was more than tired of the recent temperature inversion so I decided it was time I summit the super popular Granite Mountain. I was the first to arrive at the parking lot and only saw one person behind me at about 4700'. Whoever it was turned around and I didnt see anyone until the summit. Views were absolutely stunning and temps climbed as high as 65 near the summit. Followed some tracks down the W. Ridge and then S. to the main trail. It was a lot more fun than descending the main route unless you have skis. | |

| I've been up Granite many times in many seasons. Summer is too hot and crowded, winter requires snowshoes (ugh), spring has high avalanche danger, so my favorite time to climb is september. Less people and plenty of blueberries! | ||
