| The foot of snow was pleasant, but the winds were HOWLING. Our hiking group couldn't even carry on conversation because of the constant sound like a jet engine roaring. The higher reaches had a lot of wind slabbing which, while not dangerous on such moderate, tree-covered slopes, made the post-holing painful. Hiking partners: Olga's CMC trip. | |

| I've been up Gray Back twice and it is a nice short hike. The actual highpoint of the mountain is Pt 9410 n.e. of the named summit. A challenging bushwack would be to add "Goat Mtn" to the east, which is listed on the Pikes Peak Atlas. It will challenge your routefinding abilities. | |

| I combined this peak with UN 9410 and Blue Mtn., starting from the Gray Back Peak TH on FS 371. A nice summit, even if unranked. | |
