Gredos ibex flock

Flock of Gredos ibex while descending Peñón del Mediodía. Their local name is Cabra Montés de Gredos (Capra Hispánica Victoriae), subspecies of "Capra Pyrenaica". They form lonely herds of males and females, joining only to mate on November-December. Two months before it was easy to see these male flocks. There are more than 3500 Gredos ibex only in the Reserve. The villages are Barajas (L) and Navarredonda de Gredos (R). 18 September 2004.
