Lots of Scree, Lost Trail  Sucess!

There was definitely nobody else taking this route the day I was and afterwards, I can see why. In the early morning hours, it was nearly impossible to follow the route. Infrequent cairns, lots of twisting and turning in the very very faint trail were the cause. I ended up following my partner and taking an extremely worrying wrong turn up a scree slope that I thought wasn't going to end well. I met up with the correct trail eventually after crossing a couple of steep snow fields and more steep scree. After the lake, we met up with the main trail and it was very busy but straightforward (also steep).

It was awesome going across the flat snow below the summit. Loads of people were making snow angels and playing. Actually, it was the busiest summit I have ever seen. If I did it again, I'm not sure I would go this route but then again, I wouldn't make the same mistakes I did last time.
