High glacier-free summit with great views
Climbed from the Bordierhutte en route to Balfrin. This is a nice accessible summit, and is possibly one of the highest summits in the Alps which is objectively safe, good for solo climbers. The stony route up the ridge is pretty fast (could be done in a long day from Gasenreid) but has some tiresome rocks to scramble over much of the way. Very rewarding views on top.

The end of a long
traverse from Nadelhorn to Bordierhütte, great day and very exhausting.
Left the campground in Gasenried at night heading for Balfrin. After reaching Gross Bigerhorn my power was gone for that day ;-( I took a long rest and went down again. Great viewpoint!

Ulrichshorn - Balfrin - Gr + Kl Bigerhorn traverse
Traverse from the Mischabelhut over the Ulrichshorn - Balfrin - Gr Bigerhorn and Kl Bigerhorn. Great tour, not difficult.

from GasenriedLeft the campground in Gasenried at night heading for Balfrin. After reaching Gross Bigerhorn my power was gone for that day ;-( I took a long rest and went down again. Great viewpoint!

Route Climbed: Balfrin - Bigerhorn Traverse Date Climbed: july 2007It makes for a long day but this is a very rewarding trip. The Balfrin - Bigerhorn Traverse is really recommended.
