The Hike

After a 10 hour drive to the trailhead we set off around 11pm local time with a group of six. Three of us had previously climbed Guadalupe and we had widely varying outdoor experience levels. We hiked by headlamp for 2.5+ hours to the camp site at around 8100ft. We awoke at sunrise and reached the summit in less than 40 minutes. There was a bit of leftover snow just beyond the bridge near the summit. After summitting we took our time hiking down stopping at two large boulders/outcrops to do some scrambling.

It was an awesome trip to an area which I had spent little time in previously. Spectacular and very different from the other mountainous regions I had visited.
