The third pitch (March 8, 2008) of the classic "
Guinness Gully" (grade 4). This pitch is very wide and can be grade 3 or 4 depending on where you climb it and the shape of the ice. Here I've taken a steep line up the middle making it definite grade 4. If you go to the very top (as I did) - it's exactly 60 metres long. (photo: M. Hladik, climber: A. Jones)
