QuestionI am curious after bouldering all over the orchard rock tonight. Are thier any type of anchors at the top of the route. I know there are some huge anchors on the other side.

Gully RouteThere are two very large bolts on top of Orchard rock. The blac line ends just to the right here and a bit higher. Its a flat large area big enough to sit several people if you want to belay up and wait for second person. I was not on the left pointy summit to see if there are bolts there.

Re: Gully RouteThanks for the Belay info. Any chance you know what the other routes are named on the west face of the Orchard Rock. We climbed them 2 days ago and had a number of cruxy friction moves. Lots of rope drag and pigeon crap. There is another nice trad lead on the backside I can't find a name for.

Orchard RockHello baloodh:All I can tell you is from my book "Leavenworth Rock, 2nd edition. It lists four routes on "west side" of Orchard Rock, C Crack 5.10a, Overhang 5.10, The Pillar 5.10d, and the Tunnel 5.6 which I have posted on this site. I can see some scramble routes on the south and west side. Looks like some good stuff to learn on. No names for routes in this book. Have fun. How did you get past the gate on the road? The state park site says the place is closed after Oct 15th?

Re: Orchard RockThe gates were wide open when we came through. I wouldn't be one to jump over anything. A couple from Elma WA was there when we were. And another group of people on a tourist van with Asian lettering on it. That's to bad about it being closed now. The days are still beautiful!
