Half in the fog on the Untersberg

Half in the fog on the Untersberg

The fog was very high on October 14th, 2010, and oftentimes it touched the Untersberg crest. The two peaks in the background are Watzmann (2713m) and Hochkalter (2607m), with the Berchtesgadener Hochthron (1972m) in the middle acting as a ship's bow in stormy seas. Taken from the Salzburger Hochthron.

Fantastic shot

Very atmospheric with the sea of clouds. Must have been great to watch.

Re: Fantastic shot

It was! There's something very dramatic about the rising and the never-cessing changes of fog in the mountains, I find! Yesterday was a great day on the Untersberg, in any case!
Thanks for your comment and vote, and happy trails,
Eric

I concur with the above

Rocky ships above the sea of fog.

Re: I concur with the above

Thanks - it was really quite a "cinéma" those waves of fog presented up there!
