| I was up here this year for a Hardesty roadless circuit. It helped prepare me for Mt Shasta/Wintum ridge route the following week. It is a nice forest/area but must hike over to June for the views. | |

| Hiked over from Mt. June in neat rays of sunlight on the trail. Unfortunately, the gloom settled in by the time I hit the summit. On the way back I played around on the rock pinnacles and Sawtooth Rock before running into a mother black bear and her cub in the meadow. They ambled into the woods right where I had to hike back so there was much shouting and singing to make sure they knew where I was. Very pretty hike. | |
