Heading South From Surprise Creek Trail

An intersection along the PCT, shortly after intersecting the end of Surprise Creek Trail #1060, located in Washington State. Heading straight (south) follows an old trail, leading up a steep, rocky gully to Surprise Gap and Surprise Mountain, and can be considered a shortcut to Deception Lakes from this location. Heading right (west) continues following the PCT, leading up rocky switchbacks to Pieper Pass, Spark Plug Mountain, and Surprise Mountain.
