Here sits a gorgeous 360 degree panorama. Yes, you must climb up the rocks themselves! You basically have to go class 2 in either direction.

At least I balance it out. I'm not sure people who haven't been to the mountains of the east understand that there is a lot of beauty and fun to them. A zero vote is not called for nor fair. I enjoy the pages you and Bob Smith put up as well as some of the others who post eastern peaks because it gives me lots of help in future planning. My wife is a civil war buff and when we are back visiting the historical places, I want to have some places to go to as well.

Check out my Stony Man photos (Also on the Shenandoah National Park mountain group).



They remind me of the West due to the boulderfields below the summit.



As for the East, I take what I can get. I have traveled to the Presidentials (NH) and the Adirondaks (NY) this year, but they are far away. In fact, Shenandoah is the only "real" mountain range where I can find some decent hiking and even some class 2 climbs.



Hopefully, I may move out to Colorado soon.
