Hiking from north to south...

Hiking from north to south along the summit ridge.

The north end of the ridge is quite steep on the

Italian side but not nearly as steep on the Swiss

side. As you move south along the ridge toward

Ludwigshoehe, it becomes more steep on the

Swiss side such that a fall to either side would be

a bit painful. Punta Gnifetti and the Capanna

Margherita are seen in the left background.
