10/28/11 - Boss Hog (Hog 1) & Hog 2.
10/29/11 - Razorback (Hog 3, my fave) & Miss Piggy (Hog 4).

Kessler and I joined four other canyoneers in order to complete Hog 2 canyon, which is a good one. We took an alternate route around the first rappel by doing a steep side slot. The 5.6 traverse over to the slotwas quite exposed, but I went first without a rope. The others except for the last person had a belay.
After that, there were a few raps, but it was mostly downclimbing and squeezing through the slot.
The end of the canyon has a spectacular dark slot near the exit. In order to exit the slot, we took the 5.3 exit between Hog 1 and 2 canyons. It was a good canyon trip.
December 29 2013
Kessler, me, and some others met at Sandthrax Camp for Freezefest. Hog 1 was the chosen adventure of the day. Hog 1 was a great canyon (I had last done it in 2002). Kessler really enjoyed it as well. There are some great slots and the hike out was nice too.
After enjoying the canyon, I showed some of the others some of the petroglyph and pictograph panels in the area.

I've been through the main canyon many times and Hog 1 in April 2003 with Shane Burrows and Hank Moon.
At different times, some a few times each. Nice area, nice slots.

interesting and challenging
Matt took me on this one. some challenging down climb/slithers and one really cool rappel.

Hog 2 with Jacob. This is a really nice canyon. I have also previously hiked up from the bottom to the lower pool and did the cliff jump that was fun.

Hog 1 with John. Nice slot with good drops and narrows. Excellent half-day affair. It was hot as hell hiking back out. Once you reach the rim, do not go due west to get back to the car, head southwest.
