How to get over The Divide?

A big line of high mountains forms The Divide between Westland, on the west coast of New Zealand, and Canterbury on the east. There are no easy ways across, but the Copland Pass and Fitzgerald Pass, two interesting alpine crossings, are right beside one another. Both are seen here from the east, across the Hooker Valley from just below Ball Pass. In the middle is Lean Peak (2360m). Both passes are to its left. Copland Pass (2150m) is atop the first, wider, glacier left of Lean Peak. It doesn't look like a pass, it's more like crossing over the south ridge of Lean Peak itself. Fitzgerald Pass (2109m) is the gap on top of the narrow glacier further left. The steep rocky pass in between is given an altitude of 2105m on the NZTopo map, but no name.
