Re: This is stunning!When you go, the trip up the big mountain "Machu Picchu" is well worth the climb. Also, get to the ruins at 6:00AM if you want to spend any time in the ancient city without crowds of people milling around.

How coolNice shot! Are those also buildings, near the top center of the picture, near the summit of the mountain?

Those are not exactly buildings. What you see are the stone stairs at the top of the Class 3 route to the summit. There are some VERY large toppled stones on top that look like buildings from afar.
There were archeological excavations taking place while I was there.
