Hunts Hole from Cox Peak summit
Close-up view of Hunts Hole from the summit of Cox Peak (elev. 5,936 ft.) in southwestern New Mexico. Hunts Hole, 7 miles east of Cox Peak, is a maar volcanic crater that measures more than 1,500 yards in diameter. The much larger and more well-known Kilbourne Hole, not visible in this photo, is almost 2 miles north of Hunts Hole. Photo taken 12/15/07.
