Ibapah Peak

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Ibapah Peak
This survey marker is located about 30' west of the biggest rock shelter. When I took the picture of the three of us behind the shelter, my tripod was standing next to the marker.

Thanks for the correction. I saw the head of the bolt in the shelter and wondered about what it is.

The difference is probably too arcane and technical for all but the most dedicated surveying afficionados... except in the case of Ibapah, the old lowly bolt has really glorious history. From the Great Surveys of the 19th century, little survived to the present days. Ibapah is one of the few extant windows into that era.
