Used the NW approach. Made it all the way to the "trailhead" with the Subaru Outback, but I would not want to use anything that sits lower. Nice and quick scramble (about 1:45 to the top). We brought a short length of rope for the downclimb, but found it completely unnecessary. Most of the final climb is class 3, with one move that might be described as class 4 (minimal exposure).
We came in from the S(W). This is a pretty modest effort but there was a decent amount of route-finding though tricky terrain. And some class 4 and some exposure. You definitely have to earn this one. The road does not have too many more years left before the brush swallows it completely.

Route Climbed: SW Approach
Started from 3400' on West Boundary Rd (road was very brushy but in good shape). Pushed my bike up to the pass, hit snow 3600'. Gorgeous day, incredible views!
