Highest spot on Grayback Mtn

This is a hard to find location due to the dense brush you have to fight your way though. I had been looking all over the summit area (no views due to vegetation) when I found a big rock with this John Vitz register can on top. Strangely, finding this spot was almost as exciting to me as climbing Mt. Hood. Kind of like looking for buried treasure in a way. I flagged the way to this rock from a tree with a metal plate to aid those who might want to repeat this journey as they chase after an Oregon prominence peak. This rock was about three feet high. I put an orange flag on a limb just above it. 9-30-06
