Old Chute via fumeroles

We climbed on a hot day, 95 deg in Portland, and avoided the classic hogsback and traverse under the cliffs route. There were many trails in the snow left by falling ice chunks. You can see the dirt track through the fumaroles. This is clearly the most popular later season route now. From the top of the Old Chute, you follow the west crater rim to the summit. June 30, 2008
