mountains Quebec

I picked this up from Google. The image is from LIFE magazine and depicts what are deemed as mountains in Quebec . While some mountains could be by such a name, the location given is..Quebec... I posted the image since it is clearly indicated that such an image can be USED for NON COMMERCIAL purposes... Hopefully someone at Summitpost can do some homework to uncover the actual location of the image... (most probably there is an error ... ) Press on the image for full size Notice the pine trees...(some of the people seem of dark complexion..) After superficial investigation of landsat satellite images several candidates spring to mind including some places in relative proximity to the town of Sept-iles. I have also uncovered an impressive image of a mountain in the Chic Chocs (In the Gaspésie région). Since pine trees have a northern limit I guess that if the mountains are in Quebec we'll have to look south ! (which makes me grasp that either the image is associated with the wrong place, or the hot springs kept the pines in shape ! ) Folks , please bear to mind that everything is relative in the sense that there could be hills 4000 feet high which look like rocky mountains ! What counts is the vertical drop.
