In the Bottleneck Traverse

In the Bottleneck Traverse

The crux of K2 is at 8100-8200meters. Broad Peak and the Gasherbrums are the peaks below in the clouds.

Beautiful view!

What a great pics you're posting!
I've seen many times the docu-movie of the italian expedition that reached for the first time K2 and this "collo di bottiglia" always impressed me.
Cheers!

spectacular

your photos just get better and better. this one might explain why there are so many references to God on the mountain vs anywhere else.

Very dramatic

I hope it was a safe ascent.

Do you know where this is in relation to the recent unpleasantness in the bottleneck on K2.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Very dramatic

this is the exact spot that the upper huddle would have waited to clear the traverse below. pretty spot, but very exposed, and a fairly daunting down climb. actually, it's not too difficult for a moderately technical climber, but i was glad we rappelled 300 feet here on the descent.
