If you visit Dead Horse Point, the visitor center is a must stop. Excellent information displays nicely done and the view of the La Sal's off the back porch is outstanding. My wife was really impacted by this story. She felt so sorry for the poor horses so your question is shared by many. Of course, getting water to them would not have been easy since it is so arid there.
