In August of 2004 I exposed a
4x5 sheet of Provia 100F on this favorite peak of mine,
Isoceles Peak, in
Dusy Basin of
Kings Canyon National Park. This image was made in later afternoon at a location that emphasized the symmetry of the peak against the sky. Some days in the high country our blue skies are an incredibly saturated beautiful blue beyond mere words and such was the case here.
In the background left is 14k
North Palisade. One can see a couple clumps of common yellow willow at the left frame edge near this evaporating pond. Amazingly I also came across a garter snake at this pond that is well over 11k looking for tadpoles. In the foreground fall red leaf changed
arctic willow grows in the grassy turf and also a few
shooting star plants that had gone to seed weeks before.
The image will be available as a Lightjet fine art print via
Gallery B on my below homepage.
