HyadventureOpps..  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Mar 14, 2010

It was a geographically challenged day. I was headed for Jacinto, but went a little too far west..

jspeiglTraverse from San Jacinto  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jan 24, 2010

An amazingly beautiful day. The sky was blue and the temperature was mild. The trees at the top were coated with rime ice from the past week's storms, a testament to the harsh conditions the pines must cope with to survive.

Hiked it from the turnoff to San Jacinto. Everyone was looking at us wondering "where are you guys going". There was at least a hundred people on Mt. San Jacinto and there was no one on Jean.

NavySeabeeSan Jacinto to Marion Traverse  Sucess!
Date Climbed: May 18, 2008

A relatively easy traverse made more difficult by seriously sun-cupped snow conditions - some solid, some soft, some postholing. Harder snow or no snow would have made this a snap. For those who haven't made this jaunt, stay just to the west side of the ridge.

Hiked Cornell, Miller, San Jacinto, Folly, Drury, Jean and Marion. All are great summits, lots of 3 class and summit blocks. Here are my GPS tracks and photos.

Ticked off Jean and 4 other peaks in a midnight hike. The snow was crunchy and beautiful under the starlight.

skottyNice off-trail detour  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 10, 2007

Did it as part of a six peak weekend with Folly, San Jacinto, Miller, Marion, and Newton Drurry. This is a good off-trail detour to grab along with San Jacinto.

Dave DalyPre-Sierra Challenge Shakedown Continues  Sucess!
Date Climbed: May 20, 2007

Dave Daly

Tapped Jean on the way to San Jacinto. Came from Wellmans Divide and up to Marion, then across to Peak 10,386. The only bushwacking I encounterted was the initial 100 yards off the Wellmans Divide trail. After that, picked up ducks through the wooded drainage to Marion. Found it enjoyable cross country! Oh, yeah....the summit register was complete soaked :P

Working on acclimitization and altitude on hike to San Jacinto aftering returning from Iraq. Beautiful snow coverage to break trail thru. Dave and I inadvertantly ended up on the summit of Jean Peak prior to summitting San Jacinto.

Climber DaveAfter San J  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 17, 2006

Climber Dave

Came up for the weekend with my bro in law and nephew, as they were lounging, having lunch on San J, thought I would run over and bag Jean and meet back at the saddle. Lots of use trails, getting here was easy, lost the trail and unded up hopelessly stuck in some pretty nasty brush on the way back!!
