Amazing K2Beautiful shot of breathtaking mountain! I never aspired to climb any of this 8000+m monsters but I do hope to hike to Concordia one day. That is one of most amazing corners of the world. My question is how far is from this point to the foot of K2, I need this info to be able to judge dimensions properly :-) Also what is the name and height of that needle peak left of K2? Thanks,

To answer your question, Broad Peak base camp is between 3-4km down the glacier from K2 base camp, which is itself not actually right 'under' K2 due to the avalanche risk, but a little way back. Broad Peak base camp is also around 5-6km from Concordia. So this makes the walk from Concordia to K2 base camp a 5 or 6 hour trudge on boulders and rubble, with fantastic views of K2 all the way up. The needle to the left of K2 is Angel Peak, 6858m, and the slighly smaller needle in front of it is Nera Peak, 6394m. K2 base camp is right under Nera Peak.
