Kearsarge Pinnacles
Dawn from Kearsarge Lakes

The day before, after a break in three days of rain, I wandered over to the upper lakes and then scrambled and slogged my way up one of the pinnacles, the one shown on the left here. This was my first significant off-trail experience in the mountains, and what I saw and felt that day pretty much fired the mountain passion that drives me to this day.
